  • Let your child know that you are ready to talk to them about their addiction problem when they’re ready.
  • Make sure your child knows that while you will not listen to their excuses about their addiction problem, you will help them when they’re ready to seek treatment.
  • Give your child a list of meetings and rehabs that they can go to for help with their addiction problem.
  • Give your child resources from the following, The Teen Line’s number “206.722.4222 or 1.877.345.8336″, or the “Alcohol Drug Help Line’s number 206-722-3700 800-562-1240″or that they can talk to and get the resources they will need.
  • Let your child know you will drive them to rehab when they’re ready.
  • Tell them that you love them but you do not love the way they treat their family and friends when they are high on drugs or alcohol.
  • Let them know that you miss the person they used to be before they let their addiction problem take over their life.
  • Tell them you will visit them while they are in rehab.
  • Tell them you will go to a meeting with them.
  • Tell them you will not give them money to fund their addiction but you will help pay for them to go to rehab
