Certification Licensing and Standards of Care Subcommittee

Goals

• The goal of this committee is to ensure competency, diversity, quality and
  availability of counselors and programs serving adolescents with
  substance abuse problems.

Objectives

• To improve state standards for licensure / certification / accreditation of
  counselors and programs that treat adolescents with substance abuse
  problems.
• To increase the number and level of expertise of trained youth counselors
  by identifying and addressing the barriers to workforce development
  (including barriers to related to race, ethnicity, and language).

To strengthen the role and the visibility for the existing statewide provider
association for adolescent substance abuse treatment.
